After Efects Error: overflow converting ratio denominators.(17 :;18)

Hello, I am experiencing a serious problem with after effects.

 

It started when I right clicked a clip in my premiere pro timeline and chose "replace with after effects composition."  Upon moving the clip into my already open after effects project, the wrong still frame opened up in the comp viewer, followed by this error: After Effects Error: overflow converting ratio denominators.(17 :;18).  Clicking OK does nothing, and even after closing after effects and restarting the computer, upon opening my project, I simply get this error which will not go away, and as long as it is open, I can do nothing else with after effects.  I cannot just create a new project as several other comps are contained within this specific project, and because of this error I now have no access to them.  What can I do to correct this?

Invalid image buffer size question.

I finished a project but once I start to render, an error always pop up at the exact frame stating:

 

"After Effects error: Invalid image buffer size (40003x40002)"

(37 :: 102)

 

I have tried purging every 5 frames, yet it still doesn't work.

 

I am using a mac with 2 gigabyte ram.

 

Hopefully someone can help me with this, really need to render because I need to submit it soon.

Can't not import mov files into AE.

This problem has appeared for some of the time. It causes several things I can't do in my After Effect, but I really have no idea how I can fix it.

 

 

Problem 1: wait a long time to open the AE, it hangs on the initializing media core and takes about 10-15 mins to get through.

 

Problem 2: can't import the mov files, and if I import the mov to the AE project, this pop up comes

               "After Effects error: file 'file name.mov' cannot be imported - this 'MooV file is damaged or unsupported.'"

 

Problem 3: can't output the comp as mov. and this pop up warming comes

               "After Effects: One of the output modules could not be imported. It has been reset to use the default setting for the selected file format."

 

 

 

I read some threads and I knew this might cause by the blocked communication between AE and QT. But I have double check my QT, it is version 7.6.6 and I have no firewall software installed, hence the communication is okay (i guess, since I can play the mov file normally and not the warm message that “QuickTime is not installed on this system…”) .

 

Some other thread says may because of the three party component in the QT Library. This may make sense, cause I install some converters for converting the wmv and avi before…

Ram Preview on After Effects CS6, completely out of order.

Hi! First of all, sorry if my English is not perfect, I'm from France but I'll try to do my best to make this message understandable.

 

I have recently worked on my first big project (2weeks of work) with After effects CS6, and I had really BIG problems with the Ram Preview.

 

Basically, the Ram Preview on After Effects CS6, is not reliable at all and has really bogus behavior.

 

For example when I hit "0" on the numeric pad (to start the rendering of the Ram preview), some times it won't start render, or it will take super long time before starting to calculate frames. Instead if I hit the "space bar" it will start immediately. But with method you're not seen your animation in "real time" and with no sound and it's not what I want to do.

 

Some times while rendering it won't show you the green progress bar so can't really know how many frames are calculated.

 

After the the Ram preview is over, and I make a change in let's say frame 150 (that have no effect in previous frames), and even some times without any changes, and want to see my Ram Preview again, the computer will start to render from frame 1 again, loosing all the previous frames that were already calculated before and after the changing frames...

 

...And there are many other examples...

 

Working in this conditions is very frustrating, and it requires much more time for the same results.

 

In order to find solution and searching the net, I tried different settings related to CPU,  RAM allocated to each processor and disk cache, but nothing worked.
At the end, I found a solution that works in a way. The "solution" is to deactivate multiprocessing rendering. Then you get a reliable ram preview again but that renders on only one processor so once again you loose a lot of speed.

 


My computer is IMac, Intel Core i7 @ 2.8GHz, with 16GB of RAM.

 

 

So if there's anybody experiencing the same problem, tell me.

 

And I'd like to know if Adobe is aware of this problem.

I have FCP X, Motion and Compressor

Running Mountain Lion

New Mac Pro 12 core Xeon processors

And I'm using

Adobe CC

 

It works on my MacBook Pro laptop but not on my new desktop.

 

I repaired permissions, relaunched.

 

Only thing I can think of is that I migrated to a solid state drive using Carbon Copy Cloner and zeroed out the factory install of the OS.

 

Any help or ideas would be a great help and appreciated.

Does After Effects have a backup feature?

After Effects just crashed on me and I lost my project. Is there any way to recover that project. I didn't save it I know it was dumb of me. I tried reopening After Effects but nothing popped up. I also use After Effects CS5.

FAQ: Why doesn't AVI appear as an export format in the Render Queue?

On Windows versions of After Effects, AVI appears listed with the more comprehensive name, "Video for Windows". In fact, it's the format specified by the default Output Module template. The Format Options button will reveal the AVI/VfW codecs available on your system.

On Mac systems, AVI/Video for Windows is not available as a direct export option (except through the File > Export path, which is really not recommended). Export a lossless intermediate file from the Render Queue instead (for example, a Quicktime file). You can then use a number of converter applications (including Quicktime Pro, for example) to convert this intermediate file to an AVI file.

Export quality in After Effects

I'm using After Effects CS4 and have exported as an MPEG-4.  The quality of the final movie is very poor.  It looks like a low quality JPEG.  In After Effects preview, it looks fine.

 

I'm familiar with exporting quality videos out of Premiere.  Is the usual workflow to open AE projects in Premiere and use the options there to export?  Or am I missing something in AE?

CS6 not importing .mp4 files

Hi everyone.  I am switching from cs5.5 to cs6.  I still have cs5.5 on my computer and just now cs6.  The problem, I have run into is when I try to import a .mp4 video file AE cs6 tells me "After Effects error: file '132_2250_01.MP4' cannot be imported - this 'MooV' file is damaged or unsupported" 

Yet, the same .mp4 file opens up just fine inside Premiere Pro cs6 and AE cs5.5

So, I'm working on a project and it looks like I have to finish it in cs5.5 

Any reasonable explanation?  Thanks for your help. 

PS-All other .mov .avi files open up just fine in AE cs6

Only files that are giving me a problem with cs6 are the ones I recorded with my Sony EX Cam.  CS5.5 never has.

Mavericks and AE 12.0/12.1/12.2

Since updating to Mavericks, AE CC no longer opens.

 

Creative Cloud claims AE CC is up to date.

 

I am also unable to install the 12.1 or 12.2 updates manually. It simplt says "Update failled - contact support if the problem persists"

 

 

Note: Premiere, Bridge, InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop and Flash CC all appear to be working fine.

Convert Mask path to shape path?

Can I convert a Mask path into a shape path in AECS4?

I am running into a problem with resizing my layers - I am animating a signature, and part of it was done as a shape, part of it as a mask that 'reveals' a signature (someone else created the original) when I try to enlarge the whole thing, only the shape portion enlarges without artifacting (vector) the mask portion gets blocky and ugly if enlarged.

Export quality in After Effects

Installed and uninstalled several times, keep getting the same errors. Mac Pro Running up to date Mountain Lion.

quicktime is not installed error with After Effects CS5

i cannot solve the quicktime is not installed problem with after effects cs5. i have tried most of the suggestions posted on the forum and am getting quite frustrated.

i have tried reinstalling both qt and ae and still no change

 

am running windows 7(64-bit)

core i7

16GB ram

Adobe After Effects CC does not open in MAC OS Mavericks

Dear forum friends,

 

 

I've subscribed to an account of the Adobe Creative Cloud. I'm trying to use Adobe After Effects CC on my macintosh, but it does not open. I installed, updated, but does not work. Have reinstalled and spent hours with Adobe Support. Unsolved.

 

 

Can anyone help me?

Can you render clips on PC as ProRes using AE Cs5.5?

So I went to export a clip I edited in AE to reedit in Premiere Pro but there is no option to export in ProResHQ?  I have been doing some research and I found different reports such as: There is no ProRes Codec for Windows, only Mac  OR There is a ProRes codec for PC which you can edit but you can't render in AE unless you have Final Cut Pro?

 

Can anyone please help me out here?

After Effects CS5 hangs on startup

After Effects CS5 (MAC, german trial version) needs 5-10 minutes to start up, hangs on the message "MediaCore wird initialisiert". On another Mac (small macbook!) it works fine. I did a reinstall, no effect. No plugins are installed.
